Overview

Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering operates under the aegis of the Mahatma Gandhi Vidya Peetha Trust and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Govt. of India, and affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University. It offers engineering branches having 20 Undergraduate courses & 6 Post Graduate courses. In addition, it has 20 Research Centres in different branches of Engineering catering to research scholars for obtaining Ph. D.s under VTU. Various courses are accredited by the NBA. The Institute is spread over 23 acres of land with large infrastructure supported by laboratories with state-of-the-art, Equipment & Machines. The Central Library with modern facilities and the Digital Library provides the knowledge base for the students.

Discipline in campus:

Students should follow the prescribed dress code by DSCE while on campus and also have to wear an ID card issued by the College.

Unsocial activities like ragging in any form shall not be permitted within or outside the precincts of the institution and the students found indulging in them shall be dealt with severely and dismissed from the institution.

The following additional acts of omission and /or commission by the students within or outside the precincts of the college shall constitute a gross violation of the code of conduct which is punishable.

Lack of courtesy and decorum, as well as indecent behavior.
Wilful damage to property of the Institution/Hostel or fellow students.
Possession, consumption, or distribution of alcoholic drinks any kind of hallucinogenic drugs, or smoking.
Mutilation or unauthorized possession of library material, like books.
Hacking in computer systems (such as entering into other persons’ areas without prior permission, manipulation and/or damage of computer hardware and software, or any other Cyber-crime, etc.).
Use of Mobile in the College Academic area.
Unauthorized fundraising and promoting sales.
Any other considered by the college as of gross indiscipline.

Process for B.E. Programme

For UG, college admission is through the entrance test / Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Karnataka Government & Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka / COMEDK. The students with meritorious ranking are considered for admission.
A pass in PUC/12th/10+2 or equivalent examination in the first attempt with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with English as one of the subjects/languages.
A pass in PUC/12th/10+2 or equivalent examination with 45 % marks aggregate in Physics, Mathematics & any one of the following subjects: Chemistry / Biology / Computer science / Electronics.
Candidates belong to Karnataka SC, ST & other backward classes (Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A & 3B) the minimum marks for the eligibility will be 40% aggregate in the optional subjects.

MTech Programs

A pass in B E/ BTech or equivalent examination.
A written test is conducted by the university for candidates and a rank list is obtained. Based on this, the candidate will appear for admission carried out through a single-window counseling process.
Candidates with valid GATE scores will be given first preference for the seat selection in the counseling process, then university rank holders.

Admission through Management Quota

Engineering:

Candidates should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and should have passed these subjects individually. Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry are compulsory subjects.

MBA:

The candidates shall have passed the prescribed qualifying examinations with not less than 50% of the marks in aggregate of all the years/semesters of the degree examinations. The students who have either taken PGCET, MAT, CAT, or KMAT are eligible based on merit into the program.
