NMIMS Mumbai Admission 2023: Step-by-Step Process

The admission process of the two-year full-time MBA Programmes at SBM NMIMS Mumbai has the following steps:

Register and apply for the NMAT exam 2023
Apply to NMIMS before Your first Take of the NMAT exam date
Check Short-list on the basis of the NMAT Score
Participate in CD-PI, the “Final Selection Round”
Check the Final Merit List

Step 1: Register and apply for the NMAT exam in 2022

The first thing is to Register and apply for NMAT by GMAC 2021 exam before the last date of registration for the NMAT exam

Step 2: Apply to NMIMS before the NMAT exam date

Register with NMIMS before your scheduled date of exam or NMIMS’s last date whichever is earlier.
You can register and appear for the Main or Re-apply for the NMAT examination But, NMIMS will accept candidates from the Main examination only. It means that the candidates qualifying for the NMIMS cut-off based on NMAT retake exam scores will not be part of the 2nd stage of the selection process and the Retake/Reapplication scores will not be considered for the further selection process.

Step 3: Check the Short-list on the basis of the NMAT Score

NMIMS will shortlist the candidates on the basis of the following parameters:

NMIMS-SBM, Mumbai will consider NMAT by GMAC 2022 exam score of the applicants for shortlisting for the final admission round.
Candidates will be short-listed on the basis of the combination of their score in the NMAT by GMAC exam and the latest preferences of the programmes selected on the NMIMS application/reapplication form.

NMIMS Mumbai’s cut-off for MBA admission 2023 at the School of Business Management, is higher as compared to other campuses of NMIMS. The NMIMS Mumbai cut-off in the NMAT exam will be based on NMAT by GMAC scaled score leading to percentile. The expected cut-offs are:

Step-4: CD-PI, the “Final Selection Round”

This Stage of the selection process is managed by NMIMS for the shortlisted candidates and will be as under:

Post-short-listing on the basis of available scores, applicants will be called for the final selection round (PI Round) at the designated centers which may contain a Psychometric test or Written Analytic Test along with a personal Interview.
The selection criteria will be based on merit only. The decision regarding the cut-off of the merit list will solely lie with NMIMS.

Step-5 Final Merit List & Admission Offer

NMIMS Mumbai selection criteria in the final admission round award weight to Entrance exam score; Academics; Work Experience and performance in Case Discussion (CD) and Personal Interview (PI) round.
No weightage will be awarded for work experience below 6 months. Besides, Training/Project work/work done as an integral part of curricular requirements will not be considered.
The criteria to generate the final merit list for admission will be based on the application data in terms of academic marks obtained, work experience, marks obtained in NMAT by GMAC,

NMIMS SBM Application Process 2022

The application process for NMIMS SBM is completely online. Candidates seeking admission must apply on the official website (https://sbm.nmims.edu/). The step-by-step process of application for NMIMS SBM is mentioned below:

Step 1: Visit the official website of NMIMS SBM (https://sbm.nmims.edu/).

Step 2: Click on the ‘Menu’ tab (if applying via Phone) and then on ‘Programs’. If applying via Laptop/ PC, click directly on the ‘Programs’ tab.

Step 3: Select the programme category (full-time, part-time, specialized, and doctoral) and select the desired programme under the relevant category.

Step 4: Click on ‘Apply Now on the course screen that opens up.

Step 5: In order to apply for programmes that offer admission via NMAT by GMAC, register first for NMAT and then apply for the course. For other courses, fill in the application form and submit the form after payment of the application fee.
