What is PGDM?

As discussed above, the full form of PGDM is Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management is a diploma course and not a degree. PGDM can also be offered by autonomous institutes (not affiliated to any university). Such institutes cannot offer an MBA degree. All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approves colleges to offer PGDM courses in India. The curriculum is also based on a blend of industry requirements and incorporates key features from AICTE’s model curriculum.

PGDM vs MBA: Affiliation and Accreditation

As MBA is a degree, it can only be offered by universities and institutes affiliated to universities. Their curriculum is accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC). On the other hand, autonomous bodies like IIMs are not authorized to offer a degree. Therefore, their course, the Post Graduate Diploma in Management is recognized as a diploma and is regulated by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Shortlisting of candidates will be done based on past academic performance, admission test scores (CAT/XAT/MAT/GMAT), and relevant work experience.
Candidates will be intimated regarding their shortlisting through email / SMS to their registered phone number with every detail.
Candidates will have to attend a Design Thinking Workshop which will be a half-day program where they will solve real-life problems.
This will give an idea of the innovative and creative approach of the students toward problem-solving, teaching and learning skills.
Personal Interviews will be conducted by a panel of Industry experts and SOIL faculty
Candidates will be finally selected based on past academic scores, extra co-curricular achievements, relevant work experience, test scores, performance in the workshop, and Personal Interviews.
Selected Candidates will be intimated regarding their selection over email with information regarding their admission and payment of admission fees.

Fill out the Online Application form.
Create an account by filling in the details. You will receive a unique account ID and password. Using it, re-login into your account and complete the registration process.
Enter all the details; academic, personal, and work experience related.
Enter the CAT/XAT/GMAT registration details and upload the scorecard (if applicable).
Upload scanned photographs.
Pay the application fee online. The application fee for the PGDM program is INR 2000.
Submit the application form.
Print the application form and acknowledgment slip for future correspondence.
Select the date for the “Design Thinking Workshop” round while filling the application.

PGPM Eligibility

To be eligible for admission into the PGPM program, a student must fulfill the following criteria.

A Completed Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized institution with at least 50% in graduation.
Greater than 60% in 10th & 12th Standard Examinations
Minimum 2 years of Prior Work Experience is required.
Valid CAT*/NMAT/GMAT/XAT* scores are accepted for PGPM-BL (Non-Mandatory but adds weightage to your profile)

To be eligible for admission into the PGPM HR program, a student must fulfill the following criteria.

A Completed Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized institution with at least 50% in graduation.

Desire to become an HR leader in the future.

PGPM Admission Process

Candidates should submit an online application by paying the application fee
After completing the application form and sending an updated resume, the PGPM admissions office shall revert with a detailed profile evaluation summary within 72 hours.
Shortlisting of candidates will be done based on overall profile, past academic performance and relevant work experience.
Candidates will be intimated regarding their shortlisting through email / SMS to their registered email address and phone number with every detail.
Candidates will then take the SOIL Talent Appreciation Test (STAT). This test shall consider the following four characteristic traits of the candidates.
- Leadership potential
- Reasoning and Ideation potential
- Relationship building potential
- Self-Leadership potential
The next round will be a Personal Interview with a faculty member and a senior member from the industry.
Candidates will be interviewed about their background, and how the MBA program fits with their plans and aspirations.
In 4 weeks, the results shall be conveyed to the candidates of their selection. If selected, candidates will have to pay INR 2 lakhs to secure their seat, within 10 days of the announcement of results.
