Direct B.Tech Admission in MIT Manipal. Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) Manipal came into existence in the year 1957 and was considered as one of the 1st self-financing private engineering colleges in the nation. It went on growing and improving as the years went on and became one of the known institutions in the state of Karnataka. Later in the year 2000, it became an institute under the Manipal University which was known as Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) in the earlier days. Manipal Institute of Technology offers a bachelor’s as well as a master’s program in the field of engineering. It supports branches like Aeronautical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, etc. Along with this it also allows the carryout of part-time or full-time research work for the students in the institute. The duration for post-graduate qualification Ph.D. for the students is 3 years which is full-time, and for part-time is four years. For the students with an M Phil degree, there is one year of relaxation for the applicants.

General Category: Admissions are done on the basis of rank in the All India Manipal Entrance Test – MET.
Foreign/NRI Category: Admissions are done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

Tuition fee waiver for economically backward students whose family income is less than Rs.6 lakh per annum.

100% course fee waiver for candidates who have secured a rank in the top 100 in MAHE-OET

Candidates securing a rank between 101 and 1000 shall be offered a scholarship based on the annual family income:

Academics & Faculty:

At M.I.T. the curriculum includes the all-round development of a student. The academic year is divided into 2 semesters i.e. Odd Semester and the Even Semester. The marking system includes the cumulative grade point average (CGPA). The system is divided in such a way that nobody is stressed out at the end of the day yet it is effective and has a long-lasting impact on the students. CGPA is just a number and more emphasis is laid on how well a person can apply whatever they learn. Therefore, academics wise M.I.T can be rated very much satisfactory.

Foreign Exchange & International Exposure:

M.I.T. is one of the premier colleges in India. They have tie-ups with various foreign universities plus you have the advantage of staying in an atmosphere where you meet people of various backgrounds. So, there is plenty of exposure you gain here as they are students coming from various other countries. If you believe in innovation and learning along with plenty of fun then M.I.T is the place for you as you learn how to live a proper life and deal with various situations.

Fees & Scholarship:

The course fees at M.I.T. is on the higher side compared to other colleges. Though they are scholarship options provided to the students who secure ranks below 1000 in MUOET (Manipal University Online Entrance test). The only way one can join this college.

The fee waiver offered to the students depends on the annual income of the student’s family. There is a scholarship provided to students of the Konkan region. On the whole, M.I.T. has higher fees and if you think from a financial angle then it is a little risky as a choice.

Infrastructure & Transportation:

M.I.T was established in the year 1957 and is the oldest private institution in the country. The infrastructure is amazing. Manipal as a town is famous just because of Manipal University. Though it traces its history to the later 1950s the place remains up to date. It is a student hub.

The sports complex Marena is the biggest one in South Asia and has high-class facilities for all the people who believe in staying fit. Hence it can be said it has an amazing infrastructure and could easily be rated as one of the best in the country. If the infrastructure is what you are looking for, then M.I.T. is what awaits you.

Hostels & Food:

On the vast campus, there are around 21 world-class hostels to accommodate more than 8000 students staying on campus. The place is like a resort as it is situated on the Sahyadri. The hostels are kept very clean and hygienic by the hotel staff. The hostels for girls and boys are different.

M.I.T. has around 6 messes inside the campus. The food is decent for the hostel standards and there are many fast-food joints. It is arguably the best place to spend your 4 years. So, if food and accommodation are on your priority list then do not rule out this college.

Clubs & Associations:

The campus of M.I.T. is always buzzing with activities of various student-run societies, clubs, and organizations. They are indeed one the best platforms to showcase your talent or to develop a new one. The college is lit up by two fests- Techtatva (The national tech fest of M.I.T. taking place in an odd semester (August to December) and Revels (The national cultural fest of M.I.T. taking place in the even semester (January-may). Then there is also Utsav the Intra Manipal University sports and cultural fest also taking place in the even semester.
