About College

Direct BTech Admission in VIT Vellore. It was established under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956, and was founded in 1984 as a self-financing institution called the Vellore Engineering College. The Union Ministry of Human Resources Development conferred University status on Vellore Engineering College in 2001. The University is headed by its founder and Chancellor, Dr. G. Viswanathan, a former Parliamentarian and Minister in the Tamil Nadu Government. In recognition of his service to India in offering world-class education, he was conferred an honorary doctorate by the West Virginia University, USA. Mr.Sankar Viswanathan, Dr.Sekar Viswanathan and Mr.G.V. Selvam are the Vice-Presidents; Dr. Rambabu Kodali is the Vice-Chancellor and Dr. S. Narayanan is the Pro-Vice-Chancellor.

VIT was established with the aim of providing quality higher education on par with international standards. It persistently seeks and adopts innovative methods to improve the quality of higher education on a consistent basis.The campus has a cosmopolitan atmosphere with students from all corners of the globe. Experienced and learned teachers are strongly encouraged to nurture the students. VIT Vellore Engineering Admission Process

In order to get Admission into VIT Vellore, first of all, you should have at least 60% marks in PCM in your Class 12^th Standard or equivalent exam, if you’re in your final year and appearing in Class 12^th Exams or 10+2 Exam, then also you will get admission to VIT Vellore after passing but the condition remains same.

And you must appear in the VITEEE conducted by VIT University itself, which is compulsory without appearing in VITEEE you can’t get admission to any campus of VIT University, no matter how good your marks are in 10+2 or Class 12^th.

If your VITEEE rank is high and you’re not getting your desired Engineering Stream or desired VIT University campus then you can try with a higher category fee in which you might get your desired engineering stream at your dream VIT University Campus.

Infrastructure-

There are a wide range of facilities that are offered by the institution. Some of them have been mentioned below: –

Hostel

VIT Vellore campus consists of 23 hostels in which 17 hostels are for boys while 6 hostels are for girls. There is a gym as well as a swimming pool facility that is available in the hostel premises.

Gym

VIT Vellore is equipped with excellent gym facilities that are available for students. Apart from that, the gym also has very quality gym instructors who are available round the clock to assist the students in terms of training. In addition, there is separate gym timing for both boys and girls.

Multi-Purpose mall

The institute has got a multipurpose mall that provides the students with different clothing, mattresses, and accessories.

Library

The university has got a well-stocked library that offers an extensive collection of journals, books, newspapers, papers, etc.

Modern classrooms

The institution has got a modern classroom with LCD projectors as well as audio-video equipment. Apart from that, the internet bandwidth of 1540 MPPS is also available within the classrooms and hostel blocks that are available for students, faculty, and staff.

Sports Facility

Sports are considered to be an integral part of the university. There is a number of outdoor as well as indoor games that are played in the institution. The students are encouraged to participate in various interstate sports facilities. Some of the sports that are played in the institution are Cricket, Football, basketball, Hockey, tennis, table tennis, etc.
