Our Founder

Direct Admission in BMSIT. Established in 2002, BMS Institute of Technology and Management traces its roots to BMSET, the same trust that set up the first private technical institute, BMS College of Engineering. BMSIT&M is governed by BMS educational trust founded by Sri B M Sreenivasaiah and his illustrious son, Sri B S Narayan.

The history of BMS institutions rewinds back to the year 1946 with the establishment of the first private engineering college in the country, BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE), by the late Sri B.M Sreenivasaiah. He was a philanthropist and a great visionary who realized the necessity of technical education even before the country got independence. He was honored by the Maharaja of Mysore with the title “Dharma Prakasha Raja Karya Prasaktha” for his extraordinary service in the field of education. The legacy he once began is being upheld with the same zeal by his inheritors and they continue to cherish his vision and ideals.

Academic Eligibility for Four Years under Graduate Programs (B.E.):

1. Through KEA/COMED-K

FOR GENERAL MERIT CANDIDATES: A candidate who has Passed in 2nd PUC / 12 Std / Equivalent Examination with English as one of the Languages and obtained a Minimum of 45% of Marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination is eligible to pursue in undergraduate programs (BE).

FOR SC/ST & OBC (Cat-I, 2A, 2B, 3A 3B) CATEGORY CANDIDATES: A candidate who has Passed in 2nd PUC / 12 Std / Equivalent Examination with English as one of the Languages and obtained a Minimum of 40% of Marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination is eligible to pursue in undergraduate pogroms (BE).

The marks obtained by the candidate in Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science / Electronics in the qualifying examination will be considered in the place of Chemistry in case the marks obtained in Chemistry is less than the required aggregate percentage for the pursuit of determination of eligibility.

2. Through Lateral Entry Scheme

Three Years Bachelor of Engineering (B.E. – Lateral Entry Scheme) Programs:

A candidate who has passed the Qualifying Examination i.e. any diploma examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 45 % (for General Merit Candidates) of marks taken together in all the subjects of the final year (i.e., fifth and six semesters) diploma examination (Q E) is eligible for admission to B E-Courses and 40% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka Candidates.

NOTE: The aggregate percentage of marks of the course of the qualifying examination shall be calculated as follows:

Aggregate Percentage of Marks =	The sum of the marks scored by the candidate in all the subjects of the final year (5th & 6th semester) examinations X 100
The sum of the maximum marks of all the subjects of the final years (5th & 6th semester) examinations

3. Through Management Quota

Facilities at BMS Institute of Technology:

Library:

Library has 35995 books from various departments
It subscribes to 16 print journals and 7 online journals
Library has a capacity of 150 students

Hostels:

Institute has two hostels for boys and girls
Boy’s hostel capacity of 280 seats and the girls’ hostel has 72 seats available and 72 seats are for NRI students
Sports

The institute provides indoor and outdoor games facility:

Indoor games -Chess, Table tennis, Wrestling, Shuttle badminton, Carom, Boxing, Judo, etc.… and a well-equipped Gym hall.
Outdoor games – Basketball, Ball badminton, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Handball, Hockey, Football, Cricket, Khokho, Athletics and Throw the ball.

Campus Placement:

Institute provides the best job opportunities for all the students of different branches and is offered a good pay scale. There are 100% placements for the IT and CS students, but other streams also get placements into their core companies.

Some of the top recruiters are- CISCO, Cloud that, Cognizant, Juniper Networks, Zap.Com, ITC Infotech, Tech Mahindra, Tech Zone, URS Systems, and many more.

Student Activities:

An annual Tech fest called “UTSAHA” is usually held in the month of April. This event is organized completely by the student committee with some members of the staff.

This fest showcases many events from rock concerts to competitions in technology such as robotics, and coding, and is attended by a large student population drawn from colleges from all over the country.

Many student clubs and department clubs have also been formed so that students can enhance their skills and knowledge.

Alumni Meet:

BMS Institute of Technology And Management, Bangalore initially started its alumni meet in 2013, and since then every year alumni meet is organized. The pass-out batches attend alumni meet and guide our current students about future perspectives of their careers.
