It is my pleasure to welcome you to R.V. College of Engineering (RVCE), an Institution under Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST). RVCE has set itself a Vision of “Leadership in Quality Technical Education, Interdisciplinary Research & Innovation, With A Focus on Sustainable and Inclusive Technology”. The evolution of the institute over the past five decades has witnessed a strong blend of state-of-the-art infrastructure and intricately intertwined human resources committed to providing professional education with a thrust on creativity and innovation.

The motivating environment in RVCE for knowledge assimilation, generation, and dissemination with a sense of social responsibility, human values, and concern for social commitment has carved a niche for itself among the best technical institutes.

The special emphasis is on Outcome Based Education (OBE) and Experiential Learning. The academic activities concentrate on helping the students to gain an excellent theoretical knowledge base and the development of skills to implement them. We are constantly reviewing our setup to update and improve while making sure that students gain thinking skills, analytical frameworks, entrepreneurial skills, and interpersonal and communication skills.

The impetus for research with a focus identified interdisciplinary areas viz. Alternate Multifunctional Materials, Clean & Hybrid Power, Large Area Flexible Electronic Devices and Systems, Intelligent Transport Systems, and Green Infrastructure and Management, based on institutional strength, and with an emphasis on creating a USP as an institute.

R.V.C.E has established strong Industry links and over 30 companies have set up labs and also engaged in developmental activities with the college. The Department of Library and information center was established in the year 1963 and is currently with three technical staff – library science professionals and five non–technical staff. The library has a vast collection of books, reference books, bound volumes, technical national and international journals, e- books, e-journals, encyclopedias and other multimedia resources, document collection volume is 172639. The library subscribes to 233 technical journals 23 technical magazines and 15 daily newspapers which include English and Kannada.
