It is a two-year full-time program spread over six trimesters leading to the degree in Master of Business Administration. It is the flagship program of the School of Business Management, NMIMS Deemed-to-be University, Mumbai with a legacy of over 41 years. It has enjoyed high credibility in the corporate world over the years. Many of our alumni occupy significant leadership positions in the corporate hierarchy while some have been successful entrepreneurs.

Tens of thousands of students across the world vie for a seat in the full-time MBA, a flagship program of the School of Business Management, Mumbai. Admissions are conducted through a rigorous entrance procedure (https://www.nmat.org) consisting of a written examination, group discussion, and personal interview. It has an acceptance rate of less than 1% every year.

Students undergo a wide gamut of courses in the first year followed by an intensive focus on their areas of concentration in Year II.

The most notable features of the programme are its objectives and its flexibility in providing a genuinely broad-based education. Students are given the opportunity to improve their communication skills in a well-equipped modern language lab with computers, cassettes, and other equipment with modern amenities. Annual seminars, CEO series of guest lectures, business simulation games, personal growth lab, psychological profiling, personality development workshops (MBTI), and the like create an all-around holistic development of the student.

Final-year students have a variety of specializations to choose from depending on their aptitude and preferences. They have the freedom to choose from a large number of electives every trimester. They have the option to choose from non-credit courses and free cross-disciplinary subjects of their choice that suit their individual preferences.

Program Objective

The programme seeks to train students to become decision-makers with social sensitivity, to lead with a broad strategic vision, and to be capable of assuming higher corporate responsibilities marked by the degree of flexibility in interpersonal relationships.

Our significant journey in the field of education started in the year 1981 when Shri Vile Parley Keeravani Mandal (SVKM) established the now world-famous, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) in Mumbai. This was done to cater to the growing demand for management education in our country. The management institute, which was initially recognized by Mumbai University, was accorded the Deemed to be University status in 2003 by the Government of India on UGC’s recommendation. This was in recognition of NMIMS’ contribution to management education, industry, and institution building.

Our focus has been to innovate and create educational programs that are relevant to the needs of the industry and society.

Today, NMIMS has 17 schools and 16 disciplines. Its programs are in the fields of management, engineering & technology management, pharmaceutical sciences, architecture, biological and nanosciences, business, commerce and economics, law, liberal arts, design, entrepreneurship and family business, hospitality management, agricultural sciences & technology, mathematical sciences, etc. It is today a multidisciplinary and multi-campus institution accredited by national bodies like NAAC and NBA at the highest level. Its management institution is accredited by AACSB, and its Bengaluru and Hyderabad programs are accredited by AMBA.
