KJ Somaiya Vidyavihar University was founded by the philanthropist and the ‘Sugar King of India’, Padma Bhushan Shri Karamshi Jethabhai Somaiya.
The Somaiya Trust fathered Somaiya Vidyavihar Mandir School in 1942 and later laid the foundation of Somaiya Vidyavihar in 1959.
There are two campuses of the University, Vidyavihar and Ayurvihar in Sion.
