Nostalgia – Annual Homecoming

Nostalgia is the annual homecoming of Institute Alumni. It reunites and fosters the bond among all the Alumni of the Institute across all batches and courses. It is the flagship event of the Alumni Committee. It serves as a great platform to relive, and rewind the institute days, and to reconnect with fellow batch mates. ‘ Superstars’ – The Alumni Awards which has been instituted to honor and felicitate the alumni who have brought laurels to the Institute by making significant and outstanding contributions in their profession, business, and/or to the society is also hosted during Nostalgia. Milaap – Silver Jubilee, Vicennial, Quindecennial & Decade Batch Reunions

The Alumni Committee also organizes reunions for our Alumni batches that complete 25, 20, 15 & 10 years of strong and everlasting bond with the Institute. It is a joyous occasion for the institute and the Alumni as well. Milaap is where they recreate the charm, energy, and enthusiasm that their batch once shared while they were students. Four Milaaps (batch reunions) are organized every year and they are:

Vicennial Reunion for batch that completes 20 years
Quindecennial Reunion for batch that completes 15 years
Decade Reunion for batch that completes 10 years

NRI Day

Since a lot of Alumni are based out of India, they are unable to visit their alma mater, for events, conferences, or other programs. To welcome them back to their alma mater, the institute intends to celebrate NRI day in the last week of December, since that is the time when such alums visit India.

Can the applicants under Foreign Nationals / OCIs / Children of Indians Working Professionals in the Gulf apply for MBA, MBA-HCM, and MBA-SM programs?

Yes. The Institute can admit students for the MBA Programme under a supernumerary quota. These applicants can apply through CAT 2023 / XAT 2024 / GMAT (Score valid from Jan 2021 to 18th Jan 2024)/ NMAT (Only 1st attempt will be considered) / CMAT 2024. The applicants – if short-listed- will have to appear for Group Discussion and In-depth Personal Interview. Admission to the program under this category will be offered according to the results generated separately for applicants under these categories. The fee for these candidates is the same as the normal program fee.

Are there any placement facilities available for NRI/OCI/FN students?

Are there any holidays/vacations for NRI/OCI/FN’s?

The holidays and vacations will be based on the Institute’s calendar of holidays.

Can the NRI/OCI/FN students do the summer projects outside the country?

Yes. The Summer Project title and synopsis have to be approved by the allocated faculty guide and then the NRI/OCI/FN student can do the project anywhere outside India.

Who can apply for an International Semester Exchange Program (ISEP)?

Existing MBA students from all the programs are eligible to apply for ISEP. Students should have completed at least two trimesters at K J Somaiya Institute of Management before they apply for a semester exchange program. Students are advised to apply for ISEP in the 3rd trimester or the 6th trimester

What is the benefit of the International Exchange Program (IEP)?

Students will receive credits from foreign universities. You will get exposure to an international culture, working with a multinational team, experience cross-cultural communication, and an understanding of business operations in foreign countries. Students will be able to develop the skill sets required to work in an international environment in India or abroad.
