Bachelor of Engineering degree is awarded to a student who has completed four four-year courses (eight semesters) in engineering. The entry to BE is 10+2 years of schooling or completion of a university course (PUC). Diploma holders in engineering are also eligible for entry into B.E Diploma holders of engineering enter degree course, by lateral entry which gives some concessions in the study of subjects. The B.E degree is awarded by the university in the field of engineering in which the student has studied for four years.
Eligibility Criteria for BE/BTech

Students who have completed equivalent courses too can apply for the course. There is a condition that it should be from a recognized institute. They need to have pursued Mathematics and also science during the 12th standard. The Science subjects should include both Physics and Chemistry. Many of the institutes prefer candidates who score at least 60% in these subjects. Also, it is a must in some of the institutes that the candidate should pursue English as a subject. 50% is a must in this subject. The overall score should be at least 50%.
