CHRIST (Deemed to be University) was born out of the educational vision of St Kuriakose Elias Chavara (1805-1871), an educationalist and a social reformer of nineteenth-century South India. In his childhood, Kuriakose attended the village school where he studied language and elementary sciences. CHRIST (Deemed to be University) was established as ‘Christ College’ in 1969.

Campus Environment

Students should maintain a sense of decorum and discipline at all times both inside and outside the university. Those who are guilty of serious misconduct or whose presence in the university is detrimental to the order and discipline on the campus are liable to be expelled.

Boys are expected to be in full pants and clean shirts. Low-waisted pants with several large pockets are not allowed.

Girls are expected to dress decently. Out of respect for Indian traditions, students should avoid wearing, tight, transparent, sleeveless, or revealing clothes and should dress appropriately.

Rule of Direct Admission
